AERO is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to solutions that promote resource conservation and local economic vitality. AERO nurtures individual and community self reliance through programs that support sustainable agriculture, renewable energy, and environmental quality.
The city of Helena has recently turned over management of one community garden located at Waukesha Park at Hudson and Waukesha streets. Details will come shortly on plot rentals and garden managers.
The parks department, in cooperation with the Helena Community Gardens, has developed community gardens at Selma Held and Janet parks. For information on those gardens, please contact Helena Community Gardens.
Serving our neighbors in need by providing food in a respectful and dignified way and by working with others to eliminate hunger in the greater Helena area. In 2021, Helena Community Gardens contributed over 11,000 pounds of fresh, locally grown food to Helena Food Share for distribution among our neighbors.
The Lewis & Clark Library is the heart of our Helena Community and has partnered with HCG since 2019 in offering resources, classes and workshops on gardening along with the Helena Seed Swap.
