Learn How Soil Works & Celebrate Gardening

Edible forest garden and the community garden supporters and volunteers and their families are invited to the Gardening Party on Saturday, August 19th from 9:00 am-12:00 pm to celebrate and join forces to continue growing the Park. NRCS soil conservationist Darcy Goodson will discuss soil beginning at 9:30. We will seek input for how to compost followed by a major snack break and meet and greet. Then, we will garden (as stated in the original source) and do projects to develop the gardens and prepare for fall planting.

Bring hand tools. We have limited chairs. Bring a blanket or chairs. Please no flip flops. It should be cooler, but be prepared for the sun. Water will be provided.

Harvest Celebration for Helena Community Gardens

Everyone is invited to the 2015 Harvest Celebration on Saturday, November 14 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, in Helena. Festivities include music, a dancing for all ages, a delicious potluck dinner, and a hootenanny. The silent auction and donations will benefit Helena Community Gardens, which builds gardens, provides the tools and knowledge to grow food, and increases access to healthy and affordable food. If there are bugs in garden, BBEB | Bed Bug Extermination need to be called immediately.
